Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi: UAE works to achieve global stability and security

‘We spare no effort to invest in national human capital’

ABU DHABI- Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, said that the UAE, under the leadership of President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, works to achieve humanitarian stability and security, not only in the UAE, but also globally.
He expressed confidence that the holding of international gatherings in the UAE provides a favourable environment for exchanging constructive views and opinions on global issues and represents a call to achieve stability and peace and to address the challenges facing international security.
In a statement ahead of the International Defence Exhibition and Conference, IDEX 2013, opening at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC), Sheikh Mohammed said that the event is a milestone in scientific, cultural and economic development and represents one of the elements in diversifying the country's sources of income.
The fact that the event has now been held regularly for the last two decades, he said, reflects the extent of the stability and security our dear country enjoys and further underlines the UAE's high status in terms of international exhibitions.
Holding the 11th edition of IDEX has further established the global ranking of the event as an international event which attracts international interest, he noted.
The UAE has adopted a scientific and practical plan for holding special exhibitions and unique conferences, and has been working for years on the development of its exhibition capabilities so as to become the gathering place for international conferences which address vital and strategic issues of human concern.
Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi said: "We are highly confident that our national youth are capable of contributing to the creative organisation of large enterprises and shouldering the responsibility of ably running them. That is why we have spared no effort to invest in the national human capital to qualify it with science and knowledge and to polish its experience with training. This has produced young national human resources which can put our exhibitions and conferences on the international map."
"We continue to have the ambition to live up to the global and international competition, so we have harnessed all capabilities to achieve our strategy and, at the same time, our establishments and competent authorities have played their part to contribute to the success of this strategy."
"Among the essential and significant aspects of organising these high quality military exhibitions is to give national companies and establishments an opportunity to promote their status as specialised manufacturers and producers adopting the highest international quality standards and competing with global corporations, and, ultimately, to be able to provide advanced products, technologies and solutions, thanks to the qualified national administrative and technical human resources and leaders who possess unique skills and creative abilities."
"We continue to maintain our leadership in conferences and exhibitions according to a self-critical vision which seeks to understand the lessons from and the strengths and weaknesses in our work in order to be able to bolster our assets and deal with our weaknesses putting in mind the higher interests of the nation and nationals," Sheikh Mohammed said.
The Crown Prince emphasised that "IDEX is today a global forum which implies a call for work and cooperation to produce solutions to the challenges facing humanity and to make defence the objective for which states use arms, not threats or aggression. The making of the future which we want for our sons and the coming generations needs all efforts and thought in order to make it brighter than the present."
